Hawai‘i Food & Wine Festival Announces Ticket Sales and Lineup for 6th Annual Event

The Premier Epicurean Event in the Pacific Returns October 14-30, 2016
Culinary masters from East and West will come together for the 6th annual Hawaiʻi Food & Wine Festival from October 14-30, 2016 to showcase the Islands’ cuisine and culture. In addition to popular signature events on Maui, Hawaiʻi Island and Oʻahu, HFWF16 highlights include an after party cook-off between the world’s premier ramen chefs, ‘Best of Eat the Street’ Food trucks at a free family event, Keiki in the Kitchen, and an Urban Lū‘au pairing the hottest contemporary chefs creating modern Hawaii cuisine from coast to coast with popular traditional local Hawaiian establishments.

“We’re looking forward to entering the sixth year of the Hawai’i Food & Wine Festival, providing locally-inspired events that reflect the global presence and connectedness of Hawaiian cuisine in the wider culinary community,” says HFWF Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer Denise Yamaguchi. “Our lineup this year boasts talented chefs, sommeliers, mixologists, and purveyors from our own backyard, as well as from around the world, who share in our commitment to sustainability and passion for showcasing the food and agriculture of our state.”

The Hawai’i Food & Wine Festival celebrates the bounty of locally caught, grown or raised ingredients with a two-week long epicurean extravaganza. Events span Roy’s Golf Classic at Kā‘anapali Golf Course, rooftop wining and dining at the Hawai‘i Convention Center and THE MODERN HONOLULU, a brunch showdown at Outrigger Reef Waikiki Beach Resort, and elegant 6-course affairs at Hilton Waikoloa Village, Ko Olina Resort, and the Halekulani. On the menu: unique dining experiences, chef-led demonstrations, and fine
wines and spirits.

Co-founded by two of Hawaiʻi’s own award-winning chefs, Roy Yamaguchi and Alan Wong, HFWF spotlights Hawai’i’s top chefs with more than 20 events on 3 Islands that attract more than 100 internationally-renowned culinary personalities including: Hugh Acheson (5&10, Athens, GA), Richard Blais (Juniper & Ivy, San Diego), Chung Chow, (Noreetuh, New York), Ravi Kapur (Liholiho Yacht Club, San Francisco), Niki Nakayama (n/naka, Los Angeles), Ivan Orkin (Ivan Ramen, New York) and Masaharu Morimoto (Morimoto Waikiki & Momosan, New York).

Leading sommeliers and mixologists will complement the culinary offerings, including: Tony Abou-Ganim (The Modern Mixologist, Las Vegas), Jeff Bell (PDT, New York City), Steve Palumbo (Opus One, Oakville, CA), and Julie Reiner (Clover Club, Leyenda & Mixtress Consulting, New York City).

Tickets are now on sale to the 2016 Hawai’i Food & Wine Festival. An estimated 10-thousand people are expected to attend HFWF16. Festival proceeds will benefit the Hawai’i Agricultural Foundation, Culinary Institute of the Pacific, Hawaii Community College Culinary Arts Program, Hawai’i Farm Bureau, Hawaii Seafood Council, Leeward Community College Culinary Program, Maui County Farm Bureau, Maui Culinary Academy, Paepae o He’eia, and Papahana Kuaola. HFWF has raised 1.3 million dollars for the State’s agricultural and culinary programs since its 2011 launch.
