Co-stars Schumer and Goldie Hawn stayed and filmed their untitled 20th Century Fox mother-daughter comedy feature at the luxury Hawaiian resort, where room rates start at $645 and head north to $17,000 a night for the penthouse.
Oracle cofounder Larry Ellison’s private-island Lanai hideout at isn’t the only option for entertainment-industry VIPs looking for a relaxing getaway or a picturesque location site for filming. The Four Seasons Resort Oahu at Ko Olina opened May 27 and (with room rates from $645, at two-thirds price of its Four Seasons Resort Lanai sibling) has already seen like the likes of Amy Schumer and Goldie Hawn, who filmed their currently untitled 20th Century Fox mother/daughter action comedy on the property. With Hawn’s daughter Kate Hudson, the two co-stars explored the Oahu area on a yacht and swam with dolphins over Memorial Day weekend according to both Schumer and Hudson’s social media accounts.
“The new resort has all the makings to be one of the most notable properties in the Four Seasons family. Like the beautiful islands of Hawaii, I can see it quickly becoming a retreat for those of us looking to escape Los Angeles and points beyond,” said Chernin Entertainment’s Jenno Topping who helped produced the feature comedy.
Ko Olina (which aptly translates to “place of joy” in Hawaiian) also played host to 27 members of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association at the beginning of June. “There’s a very real intent for Four Seasons Oahu at Ko Olina to become a new mecca for the film and entertainment industry as well as visiting celebrities,” noted Yvonne Hunter, pr director for the resort. Honest Company cofounder Jessica Alba recently got some r&r at the resort posting selfies on snapachat from the pool, writing that, “Four Seasons Ko Olina is everything”.
