Recent renovations at the Four Seasons Resort Oʻahu at Ko Olina include the addition of an all-new 2,192-square-foot luxury Club Lounge, which opened on July 4, 2025, along with a collection of newly allocated and freshly renovated Club-category guestrooms.
In addition to being one of only a few Club Lounges in the Four Seasons portfolio — and the brand’s largest and most leisure-focused to date — the new lounge at the Oʻahu property is only the second dedicated Club-Level lounge across the brand’s five Hawaiian resorts (the other is at the Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea).
The expansive fourth-floor lounge (formally the resort’s Presidential Suite) is open from 6:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily, and is available exclusively to guests staying in Club-category rooms and suites. The lounge offers clients a private space to enjoy snacks and beverages throughout the day, as well as fresh hot and cold breakfast items, which are available 6:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., and evening hors d’oeuvres and premium cocktails, which are served 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The lounge is staffed by a dedicated concierge team to assist with dining reservations, spa services and activities. Club guests can also check out in the lounge at the end of their stay, bypassing a potentially busy front desk.
During my recent stay in one of the resort’s newly refreshed Club Oceanfront guestrooms, I visited the lounge each morning for a latte and, of course, fresh Hawaiian papaya and popped in for sunset viewing, appetizers and a cocktail before my dinner plans each evening. In the afternoon, the lounge provided a quiet place to work with spectacular views that were a welcome distraction.
“Our new Club Lounge is one of only a select few in the entire Four Seasons portfolio, making it an extraordinary offering for our guests on Oʻahu,” said Michael Mestraud, regional vice president of hotel and residential operations, and general manager of Four Seasons Resort Oʻahu. “Overlooking the Pacific Ocean, it’s an exclusive setting to relax and unwind with bespoke service, curated culinary offerings, handcrafted cocktails and the kind of privacy that elevates the experience into something truly special.”
Currently, there are 38 Club guestrooms and eight Club suites; clients staying in the resort’s five specialty suites also have lounge access.
Drinks at Five-One-Six
This summer also marked the relaunch of the resort’s signature rooftop bar, Five-One-Six, which opened on July 3, 2025, with panoramic ocean views and an elevated cocktail program — both literally and figuratively.
Previously a seasonal pop-up, Five-One-Six is now a permanent speakeasy-style bar, where mixologists pour handcrafted island-inspired signature cocktails including the Hi-State Margarita made with a Hawaiian chili tincture and topped with hibiscus-calamansi foam, and the Miso Banana Luxe, composed of with house-made Ka'u Cold Brew coffee, flavors of butter-roasted banana and a kiss of umami from Shiro Miso.
As I made my way through an ordinary-looking hotel corridor, I found myself at a pink door and once inside, I realized I was in for something extraordinary. Five-One-Six (the fifth-floor bar’s room number) is an oasis at a resort that’s already an oasis, with comfortable seating that takes full advantage of expansive views of the Oʻahu coastline, making it a prime spot for sunset viewing. Despite the allure of hibiscus-calamansi foam and Ka'u Cold Brew coffee, my son and I toasted with the Pacific Garden No. 2, a drink made with Nolet’s Silver gin, pineapple, lime, lemon oleo saccharum and Green Chartreuse; and the Hunneh Baby, a delicious concoction made of Ko Hana barrel-aged rum, Woodford Reserve, lemon juice, spiced Wahiawa honey, Pierre Ferrand Dry Curacao and bee pollen.
“Five-One-Six is truly a one-of-a-kind destination — the only rooftop bar on Oʻahu's west side,” said Martin Knaubert, director of food and beverage at Four Seasons Resort Oʻahu. “The unique and intimate location of the bar offers guests front-row seats to the island's most unforgettable sunsets, complemented by innovative craft cocktails and signature Four Seasons service.” Five-One-Six is open Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings and is available to both guests and non-guests, based on availability. No reservations are required.
Moananuiakea Voyaging Experience
Another relatively new experience at Four Seasons Resort Oʻahu is the Moananuiakea Voyaging Experience onboard a double-hulled canoe. Led by certified watermen, the exclusive experience was launched at the resort last winter to teach travelers about the significance of canoes in Hawaiian culture.
“We want this to be something you can’t find anywhere else,” said Rob Paulele of Royal Hawaiian Beach Services, the operator who runs the experience. “As much as our canoe is cultural in navigation and understanding the history, it’s also spiritual in that you must be grounded in your journey and that’s what we do here. We try to ground families and bring them together through the canoe experience.”
My sons and I have paddled Hawaiian outrigger canoes many times, but this experience was completely different. While paddling was required to navigate the canoe out of the lagoon, once in the open ocean, we relied on the sail (the same type as on legendary voyaging canoe Hokulea) and took turns steering. Along the way, Paulele taught us about navigation using the sun, stars, winds, tides and even seabirds and using the left hand with an outstretched thumb to calculate distance, just like in “Moana,” he noted.
