24th Annual Ko Olina Thanksgiving Outreach

7th Annual Children's Festival, a benefit for Kapi'olani Medical Center

Ko Olina Charities, a 501 (c) (3) organization, was created to expand community participation and outreach to West Oʻahu residents. Supported by donations from resort operators and residents, public donations and grants from the Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Foundation, the organization has developed and subsidized community outreach programs, provided educational opportunities for the youth of immediate and surrounding communities, assisted with on-the-job training opportunities, sponsored West Oʻahu community events and worked to protect the environment.

“Charity is the program’s official capacity, but we feel it is more our kuleana to give thanks to the community and to help spearhead positive changes for those who need it.”

– Jeff Stone, Ko Olina Master Developer

Ko Olina Charities’ annual Thanksgiving Outreach serves 4,000 holiday meals to less fortunate families throughout the region. Other organizations and community events that have received support include: Hale Kipa, Kapiʻolani Medical Center for Women & Children, Waiʻanae High School’s award-winning Searider Productions and Robotics programs, Nānākuli High & Intermediate Performing Arts Center, Boys and Girls Club of Hawaiʻi, Hawaiʻi Food Bank, Make A Wish Hawaiʻi, Puʻuhonua O Waiʻanae, ʻōlelo Community Media, Leeward Community College Culinary Arts Program, Polynesian Voyaging Society and the Ko Olina Training Fund, among many others.
