Ko Olina Charities, a 501 (c) (3) organization, was created to expand community participation and outreach to West Oʻahu residents. Supported by donations from resort operators and residents, public donations and grants from the Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Foundation, the organization has developed and subsidized community outreach programs, provided educational opportunities for the youth of immediate and surrounding communities, assisted with on-the-job training opportunities, sponsored West Oʻahu community events and worked to protect the environment.
“Charity is the program’s official capacity, but we feel it is more our kuleana to give thanks to the community and to help spearhead positive changes for those who need it.”
– Jeff Stone, Ko Olina Master Developer
