5th Annual Ko Olina Children’s Festival to Showcase “Coco” as Sunset Finale Feature Film

Enjoy a day of family-friendly activities and live entertainment with 100% of ticket proceeds benefiting Kapi’olani Medical Center for Women & Children

O‘AHU, HAWAI‘I (August 15, 2018) — Ko Olina Resort is gearing up for the 5th Annual Ko Olina Children’s Festival on Saturday, September 22 from 2 to 8 p.m. This family-friendly afternoon is filled with live performances, family films and activities, music and video studios and the sunset finale feature film “Coco” on the beach at Kohola Lagoon 1. Keiki will have the opportunity to slime it up with Pow! Wow! Hawaii founder Jasper Wong, cook with Aulani’s Chef Kyle Higa, and celebrate Dia de los Muertos with a variety of arts & crafts activities, including decorating sugar skulls and skull masks with Four Seasons Resort’s Kids for All Seasons team.

Take a journey through Hawaiian culture and learn to hula alongside popular Disney characters at Aulani’s Ohana Hula Show! Keiki can also explore a mix of music and sound production fun presented by Honolulu Community College’s Music Entertainment Learning Experience.

The 5th Annual Ko Olina Children’s Festival will also feature live entertainment by El Mariachi Loco Hawaii and a special appearance by the Rolando Sanchez Band. Rounding out the funfilled afternoon are sun and beach safety activities with Kapi‘olani Medical Center for Women & Children, Ko Olina Golf Club’s Keiki Golf Academy, face painting, balloon artists and a selection of Walt Disney and Disney•Pixar short films.

Last year’s event drew more than 2,000 people, resulting in a $55,000 donation to the Kapi‘olani Medical Center for Women & Children. Following the event’s annual tradition, 100 percent of ticket proceeds will go to Kapi‘olani Medical Center for Women & Children. In the past four years, the Ko Olina Children’s Festival has raised a total of $210,000 to support Hawai‘i’s only maternity, newborn and pediatric specialty hospital. As a not-for-profit medical center, Kapi‘olani Medical Center for Women & Children treats keiki no matter their illness or injury and regardless of a family’s ability to pay.

Ticket prices are $25 for adults pre-sale ($30 at the door) and $15 for youth (ages 4-12). Special pricing for Active Military is also available; keiki under 3 years old are free. Children ages 14 and under must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian at all times. Special room rates at Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa and the Four Seasons Resort O‘ahu are also available.
